Sorry, the nursery is closed

It's been a while since I closed the Return of the Native plant nursery. I've kept the website going because I like it and think some people might find the information from the decade or so it covers, here in Central Ontario, of interest.
But I am no longer in business, so sorry, this is not the place to kickstart your beautiful native pollinator garden. Native plant purveyors north of Toronto include Hidden Habitat near Gravenhurst and Ontario Flora in Markdale. I understand eARThrevival will be opening soon in Stayner. For those up for the trip to the Big Smoke, the North American Native Plant Society will be holding its annual plant sale on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
These days I am rounding up some leftovers, little abandoned clusters of pots, that I will tidy up and label and list in this space. So far, Balsam Fir and Red Osier Dogwood...
On this rainy, warm, grey April day, it's so exciting to see life spring up and the snow melts away, to know that some plans worked out (the native Field Thistle is thrusting its delightfully architectual foliage out of the ground) even if others - (Garlic Mustard, Glossy Buckthorn) have plans of their own that are not acceptable to me.
My best wishes to gardeners everywhere!

Just wanted to say thank you for keeping your website up. I found your post about lessons learned for supporting a pond extremely helpful. I'm adding a very small pond to my garden this year and appreciate the concise information with named examples (no fish and Pontederia cordata for my native pond plant).
